When you plan to take a public transport in Pune

Early in the morning while you wake up,get ready for work... or you plan to hang out with your friends somewhere..... or you must reach on time otherwise you might miss the beginning of the movie ....or you wanna go for shopping and suddenly you realise that today you have no option other than taking a public transport ..... it may seem very obvious to the people staying in metro cities and its nothing to worry about because in a city like Pune with such cosmo crowd around, it should be very simple and easy. But the experience and the situation over here is somewhat different.

You step out from your place and reach to the nearby Auto-rickshaw stand and ask the driver wheteher he will go to the particular place. You may have to face follwing reactions:)

1. First and foremost to them every place is unknown and they will need a proper decsription of the place...E.g - which area, which building? how far from the particular landmark etc. etc. Now after explaing so much normal human mind gets ready to sit in the rickshaw and the reaction comes from the other side is " Madam udhar jayenga lekin half- return mangta". Now the concept of HALF RETURN is, you will have to pay the full amount whatever the metre reading shows and a half of it extra. suppose it is Rs.100 in the metre reading you will have to pay Rs. 150. If you ask the reason for this will be "madam woh city ke bahar hai na..... udhar se passenger nahin milta wapas aane ko".

2. They may just ignore your query, but if you plead them they might consider your request.

3. They will agree to take you to your destination and once you reach there they will suddenly demand some money extra.Dont you dare ask them the reason...and if you do so the answer may come as" KYA MADAM KITNA DOOR LEKEAAYE, AISA THA TO PEHLE BOLNA THA NA... MAIN NAHI AATA.................."

After facing the above situations you might give up the idea of taking a rickshaw and you may think and plan to take a bus instead...:)Now let me assure, you are going to commit the second biggest mistake of your life......anyways you somehow manage to go to the bus stop and wait for the particular bus which you know will take you to your destination.. Situation you will have to face are:

1. After waiting for long you finally see your bus approaching and you get prepared to board it..but it might just not stop there and go, throwing you the challenge "CATCH ME IF YOU CAN". And after enquirng about the next bus you come to know that its half an hour later.

2. The bus stops and you try to board it....now if its your first time you will have to be very carefull coz people out here have a tendency to board a bus as if its their lifetime opportunity to grab a million rupee which is kept inside the bus.

3. Somehow you manage to board the bus, no matter if you are standing in the staircase or you are hanging like a bat the conductor will start shouting from inside for ticket once, twice, thrice untill and unless you give him the money..

4. If you are a lady passenger, you might think that you are going to get the opportunity to sit in the ladies seats :) sorry my friend....its impossible since you will find more male members sitting out there.and will just ignore your presence even if you give a meaningful eye towards them....

5. You will have to keep on moving forward because the conductor might scream to your ears in local language" pudhe sarka" which means" "keep moving forward".

Friends didnt want to demoralize anybody those who are taking public transport regularly like me. If you dont have a vehicle of your own... simply rely on our public transport. But also think about gettin your own vehicle ASAP.
